Following the passage of Proposition L on November 8, 2016, and the additional funding it brought beginning in December 2017, the Library was able to increase its operating hours according to community needs, enhance its services to customers, and launch a new, mobile-friendly website in early 2018.
In June 2018, its capital plan launched, beginning several years of construction projects which will see renovation or replacement of all Library facilities, and the addition of two new service locations.
It is important to the Library that residents stay informed about these future plans, updates on progress made towards accomplishing its goals, and new additions to services and resources made possible by the new funds.
Please visit this page to keep up to date on the latest progress from the Library regarding Capital Plan projects.

Fine Forgiveness Token
To thank customers for their patience while branches are closed, the Library will distribute $10 fine and fee forgiveness tokens at a designated time following the branch’s reopening.
Here are a few facts to know about the tokens:
- Each token is good for a one-time clearance of fines and fees (except for damaged or lost materials) up to $10.
- All types of fines and fees are eligible to be cleared with tokens.
- One token per customer who attends the ribbon cutting or visits the branch the day of the open house.
- Tokens will be accepted at the branch where it was distributed for one year after the date of that branch’s open house.
- Tokens have no cash value.
