Riverside Branch

Grand Opening Weekend: June 14-15, 2024

After breaking ground on May 19, 2023, construction of the brand-new Riverside Branch at 4510 NW Gateway Avenue is complete! Made possible in part by a contribution from the City of Riverside, the new MCPL branch will open in June 2024.

Friday, June 14, at 9:00 a.m. – Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Join Library leaders and elected officials as we celebrate the first chapter in this brand-new Riverside Branch! A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m., followed by refreshments and live jazz music by Brad Allen Trio. Decorate a butterfly and hang it up in the branch to make your mark in the new space.

Fine forgiveness tokens worth $10 each will be given away all weekend as a token of gratitude to the community for their support during the construction process.

Saturday, June 15 – Library Activities and Riverside Art Walk

Celebrate the grand opening of the new Riverside Branch with festivities for the whole family! Join the Library for a performance by KC Magic Man Brad Lynn inside the branch at 10:30 a.m., followed by arts and crafts activities available all day.

From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., enjoy local art and live music during the Riverside Art Walk, brought to you by the Riverside Area Chamber of Commerce. Artist booths will be located near the Clock Tower in the Riverside Welcome Plaza, and food and drinks will be available for purchase from local vendors in the Library’s parking lot.

Please Note: Parking for the Riverside Art Walk will be available at Renner Brenner Park, Riverside City Hall, and Central Bank.
