Holds and Returns
Before July 6, please plan to visit the Weston Branch to check out any items you have been notified are available there for pick up. Any Holds not picked up before the branch closes will be transferred to:
Platte City Branch
2702 Prairie View Road
Platte City, Missouri 64079
After July 6, library materials that become available and were scheduled to be picked up at the Weston Branch will also be transferred and available at Platte City Branch. If you would like your Holds transferred to another branch during this renovation, please call or visit any MCPL branch and ask a staff member for assistance in redirecting your Holds to your desired location.
The branch book drop will not be available for use while the branch is closed. Materials can be returned to any MCPL location not closed for construction.
Summer Learning Program Prizes and Certificates:
Weston Branch customers are encouraged to sign up for Summer Learning Program under this branch. After July 6, participants may pick up certificates, books that are earned, and other prizes and incentives at the Platte City Branch.
Programming and Services
If you have signed up for a program this summer or plan to, please note that some Library programs have been rescheduled to the following:
- The Blue Jay Complex Rooms A and B (1103 Washington St, Weston, MO 64098).
As an MCPL customer, you are invited to attend programs, including storytimes, browse the collection, use public computers, access free Wi-Fi, and use other Library services at all branch locations, including the Platte City Branch and the Camden Point Branch.
Your New Library Experience is Coming!
The renovation of this branch is part of the first phase by Mid-Continent Public Library. This project is part of Library’s capital project made possible by funds from Proposition L. The architects are SAPP Design (Springfield, MO) and Helix Architecture and Design, Inc. (Kansas City, MO), and the construction firm for all projects is JE Dunn.
The Weston Branch will receive the following enhancements during renovation:
- Enhanced exterior entry feature
- New vestibule and entry area
- New reading lounge
- Updated children's area
- New furniture pieces
- New and updated public computers
- Updated children’s computers (AWEs)
- New and improved Wi-Fi coverage and access
- Landscape enhancements
- Automatic entrance door
