The Weston Branch has reopened to the public as of Thursday, September 20.
While the branch is open and fully functional, please be advised that some final work is still being conducted inside and outside of the building due to weather delays during construction.
The public is invited to attend an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, November 8 at 9:00 a.m. that will include a brief ceremony featuring branch staff, MCPL leadership, and local officials followed by light refreshments. No registration is required.
Customers are also invited to attend the Weston Branch Welcome Back Open House on Saturday, November 10 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. that will include entertainment by Mr.Stinky Feet at 2:00 p.m., refreshments, a visit by the Library's mascot Marty the Martian, and an "I Love My Library" photo station. Registration is required for Weston Welcome Back Open House with Mr. Stinky Feet.
A fine forgiveness token will be distributed at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and during branch hours on November 10. Customers can participate in the Weston Branch Scavenger Hunt using the free GooseChase app beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10 through Friday, November 16 at 6:00 p.m. and qualify for a $50 gift certificate from Weston's Tin Kitchen Restaurant.

The renovation of this branch is part of the first phase by Mid-Continent Public Library. This project is part of Library’s capital project made possible by funds from Proposition L. The architects are SAPP Design (Springfield, MO) and Helix Architecture and Design, Inc. (Kansas City, MO), and the construction firm for all projects is JE Dunn.
The Weston Branch received the following enhancements during renovation:
- Enhanced exterior entry feature and signage
- New roof
- New vestibule and entry area
- New reading lounge
- Updated children's area
- New furniture pieces
- New and updated public computers
- Updated children’s computers (AWEs)
- New and improved Wi-Fi coverage and access
- Landscape enhancements
- Automatic entrance door
