The existing Liberty Branch at 1000 Kent Street, Liberty, MO moved to its new building, located at 1665 S Withers Rd. Liberty, MO in September 2020.
The new 18,500-square-foot branch contains a wide array of amenities and upgraded technology.
Withers Branch Rededication Events
Thursday, July 29 | 9:00 a.m.
The public is invited to join branch staff, MCPL leadership, and local officials to “turn the page” in a special rededication ceremony, Thursday, July 29, at 9:00 a.m., marking a new chapter in the history of the Withers Branch (formerly the Liberty Branch on Kent Street) which opened on September 23, 2020.
Welcome Back Weekend

All visitors to the branch may pick up a fine forgiveness token worth up to $10 off fines and select fees.
Adults and kids will have fun getting to know the Withers Branch by participating in a mobile scavenger hunt using the free GooseChase app. The hunt will kick off at 9:00 a.m. during the ribbon cutting ceremony and run through Sunday, August 8, at 5:00 p.m. Participants can qualify for a $50 gift certificate to Tasty Thai Restaurant in Liberty.

The new Withers Branch opened on September 23, 2020.
The design of the new facility includes:
- A drive-up window
- Community room for public programs
- Enclosed collaboration and study rooms
- Outdoor reading and seating area
- Native landscaping
- Children and Teen areas
The construction of this branch is part of MCPL’s Capital Improvement Plan. This project is made possible by funds from Proposition L. The architects are SAPP Design (Springfield, MO) and Helix Architecture + Design, Inc. (Kansas City, MO), and the construction firm for all projects is JE Dunn.
