- Camden Point & Dearborn Branch Scavenger Hunt: March 29 – April 5
The public is invited to join branch staff, MCPL leadership, and local officials to “turn the page” in a special rededication ceremony on Friday, March 29, at 11:00 a.m., starting a new chapter in the history of the Dearborn Branch. A brief ceremony will be followed by light refreshments. Everyone in attendance will receive a fine forgiveness token worth up to $10 off fines and select fees.
Customers are also invited to attend a "Welcome Back" open house on Saturday, March 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. that will include entertainment at 10:30 a.m. by juggler Brian Wendling, an appearance by Marty the Martian, the Library’s mascot, refreshments, the mobile scavenger hunt, and an "I Love My Library" selfie station. Fine forgiveness tokens will be distributed during branch hours on March 30.

Mobile Scavenger Hunt
Customers can also participate in the Camden Point & Dearborn Branches Scavenger Hunt using the free GooseChase app beginning at 9:00 a.m. during the rededication event through Friday, April 5. Participants can qualify for a $50 gift certificate to Trex Mart.

The renovation of this branch was part of the second phase of MCPL’s Capital Improvement Plan. This project was made possible by funds from Proposition L. The architects were SAPP Design (Springfield, MO) and Helix Architecture + Design, Inc. (Kansas City, MO), and the construction firm for all projects was JE Dunn.
The Dearborn Branch underwent changes during the renovation, including the following:
- New windows and lighting
- Refreshed exterior with automatic entry doors
- Outdoor seating area
- New paint
- New, updated public computers
- Improved Wi-Fi coverage and access
- Landscape enhancements
