The renovation of this branch was part of the second phase of Mid-Continent Public Library’s Capital Improvement Plan. The Capital Plan is made possible by funds from Proposition L, which was passed by voters in 2016. The architects for all Capital Plan projects are SAPP Design (Springfield, Mo.) and Helix Architecture and Design, Inc. (Kansas City, Mo.), and the construction firm for all projects is JE Dunn.

Renovation Enhancements

The North Independence Branch received the following updates during the renovation:

  • New interior paint throughout the branch
  • Carpet replacement
  • New furniture additions
  • New public computers
