The Buckner Branch closed July 31, 2019 and reopened February 5, 2020.
A rededication ceremony was held March 13, 2020.

The renovation of this branch was part of MCPL’s Capital Improvement Plan. This project is made possible by funds from Proposition L. The architects are SAPP Design (Springfield, MO) and Helix Architecture + Design, Inc. (Kansas City, MO), and the construction firm for all projects is JE Dunn.
Renovation Enhancements:
The Buckner Branch received the following updates during the renovation:
- Refreshed exterior with automatic entry doors
- New windows and/or skylights
- New paint, carpet and ceilings
- New lighting
- Outdoor seating area
- Improved Wi-Fi coverage and access
- Landscape enhancements
