The Oak Grove Branch was temporarily closed for renovations on July 2. The branch has reopened as of Wednesday, October 10, but please be advised that some final projects are being completed.
The public is invited to attend an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, November 16 at 9:00 a.m. that will include a brief ceremony featuring branch staff, MCPL leadership, and local officials followed by light refreshments.
Customers are also invited to attend a "Welcome Back" open house on Saturday, November 17 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. that will include entertainment Mad Science at 2:00 p.m., refreshments, and an "I Love My Library" photo station. Register for Oak Grove Welcome Back Open House with Mad Science.
A fine forgiveness token will be distributed at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and during branch hours on November 17. Customers can participate in the Oak Grove Branch Scavenger Hunt using the free GooseChase app beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17 through the end of business Friday, November 23 and qualify for a gift certificate from Oak Grove's El Maguey Restaurant.

The renovation of this branch is part of the first phase by Mid-Continent Public Library. This project is part of Library’s capital project made possible by funds from Proposition L. The architects are SAPP Design (Springfield, MO) and Helix Architecture and Design, Inc. (Kansas City, MO), and the construction firm for all projects is JE Dunn.
The Oak Grove Branch will undergo changes during renovation, including the following:
- Refreshed entryway and signage
- Updated community room with A/V (cap. 40)
- Additional new furniture pieces
- New children’s area
- New and updated public computers
- New printer for public use
- Updated children’s computers (AWEs)
- New and improved Wi-Fi coverage and access
- Landscape enhancements
