The Oak Grove Branch was temporarily closed for renovations on July 2. The branch will reopen early October 2018 on a date to be announced, pending any construction delays due to weather or other issues. See renovation drawings
Holds and Returns
Before July 2, please plan to visit the Oak Grove Branch to check out any items you have been notified are available there for pick up. Any holds not picked up before the branch closes on Saturday, June 30 will be transferred to:
Grain Valley Branch

After July 2, library materials that become available and were scheduled to be picked up at the Oak Grove Branch will also be transferred and available at the Grain Valley Branch. If you would like your holds transferred to another branch during this renovation, please call or visit any MCPL branch and ask a staff member for assistance in redirecting your holds to your desired location.
The branch book drop will not be available for use while the branch is closed. Materials can be returned to any MCPL location not closed for construction.
Following the closure, branch storytimes for families will be taking place on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. August through October 9, storytimes will be taking place at Davis Memorial Center.

Programming and Services
If you have signed up for a program this summer or plan to, please note that some Library programs have been rescheduled to the following:
- Oak Grove Civic Center (2100 S Broadway, Oak Grove, MO 64075)
- Davis Memorial Center (1901 S Broadway, Oak Grove, Missouri).
As an MCPL customer, you are invited to attend programs, including storytimes, browse the collection, use public computers, access free Wi-Fi, and use other Library services at all branch locations, including the Grain Valley Branch, Lone Jack Branch, and the Blue Springs North Branch.
Your New Library Experience is Coming!
The renovation of this branch is part of the first phase by Mid-Continent Public Library. This project is part of Library’s capital project made possible by funds from Proposition L. The architects are SAPP Design (Springfield, MO) and Helix Architecture and Design, Inc. (Kansas City, MO), and the construction firm for all projects is JE Dunn.
The Oak Grove Branch will undergo changes during renovation, including the following:
- Refreshed entryway and signage
- Updated community room with A/V (cap. 40)
- Additional new furniture pieces
- New children’s area
- New and updated public computers
- New printer for public use
- Updated children’s computers (AWEs)
- New and improved Wi-Fi coverage and access
- Landscape enhancements
