Time Frame: June 2024-October 15, 2024

Compensation: This is an unpaid position that qualifies for up to 15 volunteer hours, A+ hours, or other school district hours requirements.
Specific Time Requirements
- Assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of LitUp 2024 beginning June 1, 2024 and concluding October 15, 2024
- One evening virtual meeting in June
- One evening virtual meeting in July
- One in-person Saturday meeting in August/September at Woodneath Library Center
- Attendance at the event for the entire day on September 21, 2024
- 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Lunch and snacks will be provided
- Ambassadors will also be invited to attend the VIP event on September 20, 2024 at the Woodneath Library Center for an opportunity to meet authors and artists who will be featured at LitUp 2024.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities of the Teen Ambassador
A teen ambassador is someone with:
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to use effective communication with LitUp organizers, authors, presenters, and event attendees
- Ability to act as a guide for event attendees
- Interest in literature and art
Prior to the event, teen ambassadors will assist with the planning of LitUp by providing input on workshops, activity stations, and author interview questions.
Day of the event, teen ambassadors may assist with:
- Running activity stations
- In the past, these have included button making, selfie stations, coloring, bookmark creation, and other craft activities
- Keeping activity areas clean as well as restocking supplies as needed
- Assisting with author book signing
- Keeping the line moving quickly
- Handing out books
- Offering support to the author
- Introducing workshop presenters or authors
- With assistance from LitUp staff, writing a brief introduction for a presenter or author and introducing that person to attendees
- Q&A assistance
- Relaying questions from the audience to the author/presenter via microphone
- Green room assistance
- Assisting LitUp staff to ensure authors/presenters have everything they need
- Escorting authors/presenters from the green room to their assigned room for their presentation
- Assisting with traffic flow
- Helping people find the right room for the workshop they would like to attend
