Story Center Partners

The Story Center partners with several local organizations to help customers get the resources they need to be successful.

The National Storytelling Network brings together and supports individuals and organizations that use the power of story in all its forms. We advocate for the preservation and growth of the art of storytelling. NSN connects people to and through storytelling.

The Writers Place has served this community of readers and writers since its founding by writers Gloria Vando and Bill Hickok in September 1992. Since then, The Writers Place in midtown Kansas City has been a vibrant, literary community center offering readings and panel discussions, workshops, book signings, an art gallery, a library, theatre productions, and public educational programs for students and adults. Their ongoing monthly reading series and events, attended by over 3,000 people yearly, honor Missouri, Kansas, and national writers.
