What is a Chromebook?

Chromebooks are an alternative to Windows-based laptops or Macbooks and run on Google’s Chrome OS platform. They are lighter and have a longer battery life, but they have less storage and functionality. They are helpful for most browser-based functions, including web browsing, watching videos, conducting video conferencing (including Zoom), or telehealth sessions, and checking social media and email accounts. They include a built-in camera and microphone, but are not recommended for gaming or photo and video editing, due to limited device storage.

Please note: MCPL Chromebook To Go devices require internet access to use online features. If you do not have internet access, you can also check out the Wi-Fi To Go service.
