Your Gift Can Double the Impact for Early Literacy this Library Giving Day

April 2, 2024

Library Giving Day, a national day celebrating libraries and literacy, is April 3. On this day, caring people in Jackson, Clay, and Platte Counties will join millions across the country in a movement to strengthen and support our local libraries.

Our Reading Rocket needs your help to replenish the Forever Book Fund so that we can continue to deliver free books and crucial early literacy resources to families who need them most. Each year, the Rocket Team distributes over 10,000 “forever books” to children and caregivers to build their home libraries, providing them with the literary building blocks they need to succeed. This life-changing service is only possible through support from caring patrons, neighbors, customers, and friends like you

All gifts made to the Forever Book Fund will be matched up to $10,000 in honor of Library Giving Day. That means twice the books, twice the resources, and double the impact in nurturing lifelong learners!

We’re starting the celebration early. You can make your matched Library Giving Day gift now at mymcpl.org/LibraryGivingDay. When you do, you'll make double the impact of transforming young lives. There's no better time to help a child be ready to read at grade level.

Thank you for helping us deliver books and inspiration to every child in our community.
