Reads for Hanukkah!

This year, Hanukkah (or Chanukah) began the evening of Sunday, November 28, and will end the evening of Monday, December 6. The annual Jewish holiday lasts eight days and nights in commemoration of the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

Often called the Festival of Lights, Hanukkah is celebrated with the exchange of gifts and the nightly lighting of the menorah. Traditional Jewish foods, including latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (jelly-filled doughnuts), are also enjoyed during this time along with playing dreidel.

In honor of this special holiday, here are a few Hanukkah books in Mid-Continent Public Library’s collection:
