Linking Multiple Library Accounts

Have library cards from multiple libraries? Don't fret! Mid-Continent Public Library has teamed up with Johnson County Library, Olathe Public Library, and Kansas City Public Library so you manage all of your library cards with a single catalog username. Borrow items from each library while also creating shelves, lists, and comments with your single username. Learn more about MCPL's catalog.

I have a Johnson County, Olathe Public Library, or a Kansas City Public Library card and a registered username in one of their catalogs.

If you already have a registered username in the Johnson County and Olathe catalog, or Kansas City Public Library catalog, you can use that same login for your Mid-Continent Public library card. There are two ways to do this:

  1. Visit this page in the Johnson County catalog or visit this page in the Kansas City Public Library catalog to link your MCPL Access Pass (library card).
    Or
  2. Register here and enter the same email address you use for your JCL/OPL or KCPL account after logging in. The catalog will walk you through the steps.

I have a Johnson County, Olathe Public Library, or a Kansas City Public Library card but have never registered on their catalog.

Simply register your username here, and follow the steps below for 'Linking a Card After You Have Already Registered a Username at MCPL.'

I have an MCPL account and I want to register for accounts at Johnson County and Kansas City Public Library.

You can register for an account online for either Johnson County or Kansas City Public Library.

Linking a card after you have already registered a username at MCPL.

NOTE: This will not work if you already registered a separate username at the other library

Navigate to My Settings—My Library cards

  1. Click the Link a Library Card button
  2. Select the library you want to link a card from and enter the barcode and PIN, and then click Link the card
