AI in the Musical Act:
Musicians in Conversations and Performance
Should musicians use AI? While some artists are hesitant to integrate AI in their music, others are finding unique ways to embrace and incorporate aspects of this new technology into their live musical performances. Join us for a special musical performance that demonstrates how technology and free-improvisation music can work together in wonderful harmony. Along with performances by a group of classically-trained musicians and music professors, there will be discussions about how artists are using new technologies in their music.
Performers will include Seth Andrew Davis - electric guitar; Dwight Frizzell - horns/windjammer; Shante Clair - guitar, FX, objects; Aaron Osborne - double bass; Zak Pischnotte - saxophone, clarinet, trumpet; Cybersyn - virtual improviser

About the Series
Technology has a profound impact on so many parts of our daily lives, and this year we are focusing on the relationship between technology and music. Music has the power to move us, comfort us, inspire us, and unite us. As new technologies emerge, they reshape how we enjoy our favorite songs and how those songs are made, distributed, and profited from. Join us as we welcome authors, musicians, and other individuals who can speak to the complicated intertwining of music and technology in our second annual the Facing the Future series.
In our inaugural year, we hosted many memorable authors, speakers, and tech experts like Tobias Rose-Stockwell, Kashmir Hill, Audrey Tang, Kyle Chayka, and Liz Pelly.
