Keeping Your Resolutions

Keeping Your Resolutions

January 20, 2023

As we continue our journey into 2023, there are some things that we feel we constantly strive to commit to—our resolutions. Here are some ways MCPL can help you with your resolutions:

  • Do you want to read more? Participate in the Winter Reading Challenge: Humor Me! Read five books by March 15 and you will receive a complimentary keepsake mug. Keep reading beyond March and join one of the book groups at your local branch or online, or start your own community book group. You can also use MCPL’s Find Your Next Read section to find reading recommendations.
  • Do you want to be more financially conscious of your spending? Check out the Library Value Calculator to see how much money the Library can save you. If you’re planning to make a large purchase and want to check reviews first, log onto Consumer Reports through the Library to find a large assortment of them, so you can make the best choice for you.
  • Want to stay fit or keep up with an exercise regime? Look at all of the great exercise DVDs and Zumba Kits available for checkout in the Library’s catalog, or attend a Yoga class at your local MCPL branch. You can make your own playlist on Jazz Music Library, Contemporary World Music, Popular Music Library, or American Music to get you pumped up to get toned or just into a good mental state.
  • Are you looking to beef up your resume or find new employment? Check out LinkedIn Learning for Libraries for career training to help get you to your dream job. Get even more assistance for all of your dream goals through MCPL’s Square One Small Business Services. You can also get all of your important documents printed through the Library’s Mobile Printing services for easy pick-up at your local branch.

Personally, my one-stop shop for all things New Year that are going to help me achieve my personal goals is Universal Class. It has everything from cooking to introductory exercise classes, plus resume building courses, and I can earn certifications for each of these classes, all at my own pace. There are over 500 free courses online available.

What are you waiting for? Get your Library card and keep your resolution for this year and every year! I hope everyone has a great and successful 2023.
