2021: Cyber Security Jobs Continue to Change and Evolve

February 2, 2021

There are many new types of technology jobs emerging in 2021. With all of the new types of technology that is available and becoming available in the world, there is a great need for people trained in cyber security. Cyber security has been a concern for many years but has continuously evolved to keep up with the hacking threats and cybercrimes against technological systems.

Therefore, a constantly changing environment like tech is always in need of individuals who can act as protectors of our tech security infrastructures. Cyber security employees are in great demand, and this industry needs more employees as it is growing three times more rapidly than other technology jobs. It is estimated that during 2021, cyberattacks will cost the world 6 trillion dollars—more than half a million dollars per incident!

To prepare for this prediction, cyber security jobs are expected to explode. This industry comes with a huge income and a wide range of positions available: ethical hacker, security engineer, and Chief Security Officer, just to name a few. Even if you’re a beginning computer user, knowledge of cyber security, with the help of the Library’s online learning resources, can protect you and your personal information on your personal computer and other electronic devices.

If you’re interested in getting into the field of cyber security and like the challenge of facing new and changing technology, you can build your skillset with these MCPL resources too! A position in the cyber security industry would be an exciting career as there are many jobs available, and they keep changing to keep up with new technology.
