Get Ready for Eating Season

Get Ready for Eating Season

October 27, 2022

Autumn may bring a chill to the air and color to the trees, but those aren’t the best parts of the fall. By and large, the best part is that eating season begins in earnest!

Though some people insist that eating season runs from Labor Day all the way until the 4th of July, when I think of the months that I really say, “Forget you, dieting! See you next year!” my mind is on October, November, and December.

We here at the Green Hills Library Center are ready to bring on all the Halloween candy, Thanksgiving pies, Christmas cookies, Hanukkah latkes, fancy New Year’s Eve cocktails, and whatever else you can throw at us from now until December 31.

If you feel the same way, then keep an eye on “Books à la Carte” this fall. We have great ideas for Halloween entertaining (Silver Screen Scares and Spooky Snacks), and don’t forget to check out the Culinary Center’s pages for recipes and booklists! It’s Fall Y’all is a great list to kickstart the spooky season.

Looking a little farther out? We also have some fabulous ideas for holiday cocktails (Cocktails for the Holidays and Other Occasions), and the Culinary Center staff are hard at work crafting more recipes for the holiday season. So, make sure to stay tuned to Books à la Carte for eating season 2022.
