Boardwalk Branch Closing for Renovations

The Boardwalk Branch will be closed from  May 6 through May 12 for parking lot repairs. Please visit the Parkville Branch during this time.
 
The book drop will be closed at the Boardwalk Branch, but you may utilize drop boxes at Parkville, North Oak, Platte City, or any other MCPL branch.
 
Any holds that were not picked up at the branch before the renovation closing will still be available a full ten days after the branch reopens.
 
We apologize for any inconvenience to patrons.

Laughter: It’s an Eight Letter Word with Lots of Power!

My husband and I have always had a way of joking with each other. We really have a fun relationship. When we need to discuss our budgets, house repairs, and making other big decisions, we are all about being serious. But…the rest of our relationship is about laughter. I married my husband last April; wow, it’s almost been a year now, and our relationship has encountered some pretty big bumps along the way. One could say we’ve really had some boulders to climb. We both came from our own baggage of sorrow and anger, so it took us a while to work those kinks out.

Parkville/Boardwalk/Riverside Teen Advisory Group Participates in World Book Night

Members of the Teen Advisory Group for the Parkville, Boardwalk, and Riverside branches met on Tuesday night, April 23rd to deliver over 100 books to the St. Luke's North Hospital locations at Barry Road and Smithville; the books were then distributed by staff to teens who have long-term stays at either hospital. This Teen Advisory Group is made up of 17 teenagers, ages 13-18, who are homeschoolers and public schoolers in the Park Hill, Platte County, and Smithville school district areas.

The Boardwalk Branch opened in1994. Located near I-29 and Barry Road, this branch is in one of the fastest growing parts of the metro area. Last year, 244,391 patrons visited the library.
