Summer Reading Program Spirit

Summer Reading Program is a big deal at MCPL. Over 35,000 kids participate in the program each year. Those who do earn books and prizes as they build reading skills for the next school year.

Do It Yourself, Why Don’t Ya?!

So, I’ve always been sort of a punk at heart (although I don’t really dress like one, but I do LOVE that music!). Not in the sense of, "Quit running through my yard, you little punks!" but more in the sense that I’m a pretty fierce individualist, and I have a big DIY ethic. I march to the beat of my own drum. I’m anti-this, that, and the other, and I recently made the big leap from vegetarianism to veganism, which was a long time coming for me. Looking back, I know I had these ideals growing up, but pressure from various sources made it hard for me to put them into action.
