Summer Fun

We're winding down Oak Grove storytimes for the summer. Our last ones are May 22nd and May 23rd. Storytime will resume September 4th. While we won't have storytime during the summer, there is still plenty of fun to be had. Our Summer Reading Program begins May 21st and will continue until July 31st. During this time, we have scheduled many fun programs and activities. Go to our Events Page to take a look and register for programs.

Lit Lib: Good to Great in Literature

A good book has to do something to be likeable. If it is just about describing the same people doing the same things every day without a conflict, then it can get pretty boring. There are plenty of books that provide entertaining storylines and characters that the reader can really get into. There’s no point in arguing that; there are plenty of goods books out there. However, the barrier between a good book and a great book is a hurdle that few authors manage to climb over.

The Oak Grove Branch

The Oak Grove Branch

The current Oak Grove Branch opened in 1990. Previous homes of the Oak Grove Branch included a school auditorium and a shopping center. Last year, 104,915 patrons visited the library.

Patrons enjoy an art display.

Art at the Library

There are artists all over the metro area. Some of them end up with their work on the library walls. These patrons are checking out the work of some the young artists in Oak Grove.
