The current Excelsior Springs Branch opened in 1986. There has been a library in the town since the 1890's. For 57 years, it was a Carnegie Library on Broadway. Last year, 119,591 patrons visited this branch.

Summer Fun at the Library for Adults

You’ve probably heard a lot about the Summer Reading Program and other activities and programs for kids and teens at the Library this summer. However, adults can have fun at the Library, too. Here are a few programs coming up at the Excelsior Springs Branch this summer that are designed just for adults.

The Perfect Summer Job

When I think of summer, I think of the lake, Dari-B ice cream cones, and children playing at the park. I picture all of these things while working at the Library and think, "If I could only think of a job where I could get paid to enjoy summer!"

Watch Some Search and Rescue Dogs in Action this Friday!

They help police and fire departments save lives. They find people who are lost and/or hurt in remote places that are hard to search. They are search and rescue dogs. Now, you will get a chance to watch these special and well-trained dogs in action.
