Recently, a local charity called Honor Flight paid tribute to WWII Vets with a special trip to our nation’s capitol. According to Honor Flight KC, “Honor Flight Network™ will continue do whatever it takes to fulfill the dreams of our veterans and very importantly, our senior heroes travel absolutely free.” They also say that, “we are losing WW II veterans at the rate of 1000 per day” A short time ago, the nurse, famously photographed being kissed by an American sailor in New York’s Time Square in 1945 to celebrate the end of WWII, died at the age of 91.

Discover how butterflies begin life as caterpillars, how butterflies eat, and many other fun and fascinating butterfly facts. After the program, visit Weston’s own butterfly garden. Located north of the West Platte School Track, the garden was created by the 2nd graders at West Platte Elementary school.
