Strong Spirit Sails the Seven Seas Solo at Sixteen
I’m a little embarrassed to admit this, but I have realized lately that I am one of those people who are completely out-of-touch with most of what’s happening in the world. I don’t watch the news, I rarely read the news; in fact, I get most of my info from Yahoo! headlines or from what I hear around the library.
So, it’s quite remarkable that I got even the tail-end of this piece of news—that two teens in the last year have sailed around the world. And a third came pretty close. Alone! Woah!

Although obscured by the coverage of the BP Oil Spill and the tragic death of television icon Gary Coleman, it is important to note that today marks the 55th anniversary of arguably one of the greatest events of the mid-twentieth century, the birth of Dana Thomas Carvey.
Carvey jumpstarted his career on Saturday Night Live with unforgettable characters and scarily realistic impersonations. Some of his most famous roles on SNL include: The Church Lady, Hans from Hans and Franz, Ross Perot, George Bush Sr., Neil Young, and Garth Algar from the Wayne’s World sketches.

Part II Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Lunch Gone?
Guess what I had for dinner last night? Crow, that's right, crow.
Upon arrival home after a long hard day of work, there to greet me was my precious blue insulated lunch bag. I learned a few things; it was my mind that was MIA not my lunch, my little lunch was not as safe in my bag because apparently it's not that insulated, my co-worker trusts me with her fast fancy car, I work with some very compassionate people that offered me everything from cardboard punch out food to frozen Lean Cuisine, and last not but least, I can stand to miss a few meals.
The blue lunch bag in the bottom right corner of the fridge is MIA. It is somewhere I'm sure!
It contained a delicious, lean Virginia ham, sharp cheddar cheese, crisp romaine lettuce, juicy red ripe on the vine tomato, and was slathered with veggie dip. A plump cluster of red grape to hold me over until dinner would have been my afternoon snack.
The police were summoned but a missing lunch report could not be filed until 48 hours after the initial disappearance.
