The MCPL Bookcart Drill Team
The library's bookcart drill team shows off their skills throughout the year in local parades and library competitions. In 2010, the team brought home a trophy for their performance at the Kansas City St. Patrick's Day parade.
Big Read Speakers Panel
The Big Read brought people together from all over the Kansas City metro area to read Tobias Wolff's Old School together. MCPL held a panel discussion on the authors who functioned as main characters in the book.
Veterans Day Celebration
Each year, MCPL hosts an event to honor military veterans. These events are also great learning experiences featuring reenactments, round table discussions, displays, and military equipment. If you show up at the right time, you'll even see a helicopter land!
The Mid-Continent Public Library Staff
One spring day in 2009 we gathered the entire MCPL staff together and took this group photo. There are over 1,000 staff members at the library all working hard to answer your question, find the right book, and help your imagination soar.
Welcome to MCPL!
