Heart of America is a collection of eight fiction short stories written by authors local to the Kansas City metropolitan area. The stories in this anthology are set throughout Kansas City, spanning from the 1950s to the present day, covering many genres, including historical fiction, romance, and science fiction. While their settings and genres differ, the stories collected are woven together by their exploration of the concept of home.
Each story is unique yet reveals something about Kansas City’s local community; collectively, they show a mosaic of life in the Heart of America.
