The Library is excited to partner with Literacy KC to offer English Language Learning classes (ELL). ELL classes help students learn to communicate fluently and effectively in English. Using diagnostic assessment data, certified instructors, tutor support, and conversation labs, students gain the fundamental skills required to master the English language. The Literacy KC English Langue Learning program instructs students in reading, writing, listening, and speaking English. This program is tailored specifically towards our non-native English-speaking community members.
Students interested in attending ELL classes must register and attend an orientation session.
Virtual classes will also be available. Virtual students do need to register and attend one of the in-person orientation sessions.
Please note: These classes are for adults. Children are not allowed in the classroom during orientation or classes.
For more information regarding ELL classes or to register for an orientation session, call Literacy KC at (816) 231-2700 or visit literacykc.org/programs/entry-to-english-ell.
