Veterans Salute 2021: Help us honor veterans

2021 Veterans Salute

Each year, Mid-Continent Public Library recognizes the contributions and sacrifices of veterans in our area with our Veterans Salute. This year’s salute, September 25 to November 11, will focus on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and the stories of Post 9/11 veterans with virtual programs on our Library’s MCPL360 Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Tell Me a Story

Tell Me a Story

Oral history is an important part of MCPL’s Veterans Salute, as well as preserving local history. If you are a veteran or know a veteran who would like to share their story, considering recording it with MCPL’s Tell Me a Story initiative. Tell Me a Story provides the ability to record and preserve memories, stories, and living history of residents in the Kansas City metro area. The initiative has already preserved the stories of more than 40 area veterans.
