Kindergarten Readiness

This is a 6-week series that will provide parents and caregivers with tips, tricks, tools, and techniques they can apply to their everyday routine that will help pre-school children prepare for starting kindergarten ready to learn.

Each week of the series will focus on two companion skills and practices that will promote kindergarten readiness. There will be stories read or told, songs and fingerplays, as well as hands-on activities. These activities will provide children with opportunities for reading readiness and social emotional growth that is required for success during the first year of school.

The weekly program will last for 1 hour. 30 minutes will be spent on skills and 30 minutes will be devoted to a follow up enrichment of the skills during a Play and Learn session.  Parent and caregiver participation will be required each week.
