9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Woodneath Library Center

The true crime genre reaches far beyond sensational headlines, offering powerful insight into human behavior, social systems, and the stories we tell about harm, justice, and survival. From historic cases and famous investigations to modern fraud, corruption, and underground economies, true crime reflects the world we live in.

True Crime GenreCon offers a full day of thoughtful, engaging events designed to spark discussion, curiosity, and critical thinking.

Join us as we go behind the scenes to explore how these stories are researched, shaped, and reported. Through thoughtful panels, workshops, and live podcast recordings, we’ll examine the psychology of crime, the ethics of true-crime storytelling, and the voices of those with lived experience—alongside journalists, scholars, and authors who bring these stories to light. There will even be an author signing, where readers can connect directly with the storytellers behind the work.

Whether you’re a longtime true-crime reader or a curious explorer interested in the deeper stories behind the headlines, you’ll find something here to inform, challenge, and engage you.
