Summer at MCPL

Read, Score, Roar! at MCPL was a roarin’ success! Almost 20k youth and 7k adults participated in this year’s program. MCPL was able to distribute over 52k free books to young readers, with over 10k of those books delivered directly to children in daycares and summer schools. Altogether the community was able to read a whopping 1,251,461 days!

When asked what they enjoyed most about this year’s program, customers shared:

• “Giving my kids a sense of goals and completion with a reward.”
• “Encouraging and engaging our love of reading.”
• “Having an incentive and challenge to read on a regular basis and helping us complete books.”
• “We love everything the library puts on. It’s our fun, safe place, and the kids loved being able to pick their very own book!”
