Dr. Diane Mutti-Burke, Professor of History at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, will discuss how the specific history of Woodneath relates to the broader history of Missouri’s “Little Dixie” region. The author of On Slavery’s Border: Missouri’s Small-Slaveholding Households, 1815-1865, among other books, Dr. Burke will draw on her recent research about the pre-Civil War history of Woodneath. This program is for adult audiences and takes place in person at the historic Woodneath home. Space is limited and registration is required.
