The momentous 1954 Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court case dismantled racial segregation in public schools. Yet, the segregation experienced by Mexican and Mexican American students is often overlooked. This presentation looks at the ways the Latino communities banded together to fight discrimination and demand equality using examples from Kansas City. Program registration will close 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. Participants will be emailed a Zoom access code 15 minutes before the start of the program, so please include your email in the registration.
