Visual art is one medium that poetry works in tandem with. In this workshop, we will explore that intersection, treating poetry as both a written and visual practice. To workshop, participants should bring found materials. For example, photographs, clothing, magazines, cherished texts, heirlooms, etc. These objects should be ones that draw personal curiosity or inspiration. Participants should also bring tools that help them engage with and manipulate these materials (canvas/paper, scissors, glue, needle and thread, etc.) This class is part of the Written Storytelling Certification Program from Mid-Continent Public Library. It counts as a Writing Elective. Please note this program will take place in-person in the Story Center Historic Home. Please make sure to register the number of guests in your party. Space is limited.
