Join storyteller Joyce Slater to learn about all the different types of spooky stories, including jump tales, urban tales, ghost stories, supernatural stories, literary (Edgar Allan Poe/Grim fairytales), and more. We will discuss how audience, settings, and technology affect the story, and teach timing, voice, and movements. Leave with a list of resources to continue your spooky story journey. This class is part of the Oral Storytelling Certification Program from Mid-Continent Public Library. It counts as a Storytelling Elective. Please note this program will take place in-person in the Story Center Historic Home. Please make sure to register the number of guests in your party. Space is limited.
