Join Jackson Hodges, a graduate student from the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s History Department and intern at The Story Center, as he outlines the history of agriculture at Woodneath. Learn about the changing landscape of farming on the property, which spans from the Crouch family in the twentieth century to the Indigenous Peoples who lived on these prairies long before settlers arrived. Farming was once central to life at Woodneath, and the silo, pastures, and footprints of the former barn serve as windows to the past. The first half of this program takes place in the historic Woodneath house. The second half involves walking approximately a quarter-mile on a gravel path and down steps to the site of the former barn and outbuildings west of the house.
