Virtual Event
Learn from storyteller Milbre Burch how to identify performance options (paid and unpaid) and to create events for different kinds of story sharing; how to recognize opportunities for professional development and community building, and how to develop an audience base that suits your style, your interest, your circumstances and your desire to perform. We will touch on (live and virtual) story swaps, coffee houses and breweries, clubs and organizations, churches, synagogues, and other places that story-lovers gather; school, library and community venues, and museums, college and university settings, and festivals of every stripe. This event is a part of the Oral Storytelling Certificate Program from Mid-Continent Public Library and MCC-Maple Woods. Program registration will close 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. Participants will be emailed a Zoom access code 30 minutes before the start of the program, so please include your email in the registration. Please note: You must sign into the room prior to the start of the program. Admittance to the classroom will close five minutes after the program's start time. Space is limited.
