Families are invited to take an outdoor “StoryWalk®” when they visit the Woodneath and Blue Springs South branches May 1 through July 31.
These StoryWalk® installations feature 15 reproductions of the pages from Mid-Continent Public Library’s signature children’s book, Grow A Reader: An Interplanetary Tale, by local author Bridget Heos and illustrator Dan Regan. The book, published by MCPL’s Woodneath Press in 2015, tells the story of MCPL mascot Marty the Martian and how he learns to read. The book is available for checkout from the Library.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier, VT. The StoryWalk® concept has been used all 50 states and at least 12 other countries.
