Join Sharon Gillins as she introduces researchers to the history and mission of the Freedmen’s Bureau. This lecture also emphasizes the importance of the Descriptive Pamphlet as the indispensable finding aid that describes the contents of the records. This foundational knowledge enables researchers to plan and execute a targeted search in FB records that offers the best chances for research success. Registration is required. Registration will close at 12:00 pm the day before the scheduled program. Participants will be emailed a Zoom access code the day of the program. Please include your email in the registration. Please note: You must sign into the room prior to the start of the program. All start times are Central Time. Space is limited.
