Join professional genealogist Shamele Jordon as she introduces participants to aspects of the Freedmen’s Bureau. During this interactive two-hour workshop, participants will be guided through the methodology needed to effectively research in the Records of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands (1863 - 1876). Participants will learn strategies and tools for exploring these records and then have an opportunity to deepen their knowledge with hands-on research in state breakout rooms. Registration is required. Registration will close at 12:00 pm the day before the scheduled program. Participants will be emailed a Zoom access code the day of the program. Please include your email in the registration. Please note: You must sign into the room prior to the start of the program. All start times are Central Time. Space is limited.
