Join us at the Midwest Genealogy Center for the Library’s annual tribute to the service and sacrifice of our community’s veterans. This year’s event will feature guest speaker Vincent Morales, VSS Program Director for the Veterans Community Project. Enjoy displays of military artifacts and memorabilia, fun family activities, and a pinning ceremony for all attending veterans. 10:00 a.m. – Opening Ceremony and Veterans Recognition Posting of the Colors National anthem performed by Millie Edwards Veterans Pinning and Thank You Ceremony Performance by the American Legion Band Keynote Speaker: Vincent Morales VSS Program Director | Veterans Community Project 11:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Hundreds of historic artifacts from military collectors Bell UH-1 Huey Helicopter and other historic military vehicles Military re-enactors Veterans Tiny Home Veteran resources and DD214 Form sign ups Oral history opportunities Family activities 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Free tailgate lunch from Hy-Vee (While supplies last) 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Storytelling by the Buffalo Soldier re-enactors |Alexander/Madison Chapter of the KC Area Ninth & Tenth (Horse) Cavalry Association Closing Ceremony
