In 1865, just days after the assassination of President Lincoln, the worst maritime disaster in American history occurred near Memphis, Tennessee, killing over 1,200 Americans. Those killed were overwhelmingly Union soldiers recently released from Confederate prisons at Andersonville and Cahaba. That's only the beginning of the story though. Join Jeff Kollath for the dramatic and heart-rending tale of the Sultana's final journey and the efforts to build a museum to honor the story. This program will be held virtually using Zoom.
