My Missouri 2021 Photo Exhibition

My Missouri 2021 Photo Exhibition

June 21, 2021

The Midwest Genealogy Center is excited to host the My Missouri 2021 photo exhibition from June 30 through July 12, 2021! This exhibit consists of 16 eight-foot-long panels featuring beautiful photographs that capture all four seasons in Missouri. 200 photos were chosen from over 1,000 entries for the My Missouri project through the State Historical Society of Missouri, which organized this exhibition to celebrate Missouri’s upcoming bicentennial.

Stop by the Midwest Genealogy Center between June 30 and July 12 (MGC is open Monday–Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m.) and see this free, traveling exhibit on the main floor. If you’re unable to make it to MGC during the display period, this exhibit can also be viewed digitally, as well as in person at the Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, from July 15 to 27.

“All photographs on display for the My Missouri 2021 exhibition were carefully selected to represent the unique aspects of Missouri’s physical and cultural landscape. The selected photographs are a wonderful representation of the unique geographical and cultural diversity of the state,” said Michael Sweeney, Bicentennial Coordinator for the State Historical Society of Missouri.

MGC is one of the United States' preeminent resources for family history, providing access to almost three-quarters of a million on-site materials. So, while you are visiting the photo exhibit, make sure to use the facility to research your family history! Perhaps you’ll learn where your family was and what they were doing when Missouri became the 24th state in the year 1821!
