We’re Here (Virtually!)

We’re Here (Virtually!)

March 20, 2020

Even though MCPL’s branches are currently closed while the country tries to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), it doesn’t mean that the Library has disappeared completely! Even now, MCPL staff is diligently working from home, keeping the Library’s “virtual” doors wide open and YOU engaged, connected, and entertained!

In addition to exploring our website, why not come chat with us on our MCPL Readers’ Lounge Facebook page? There you’ll find Librarians sharing book suggestions, which you can then use on OverDrive’s virtual library of eBooks and eAudiobooks and even eMovies with OverDrive Video! Also, a sneaky plug from me: Be sure to check out my first ever Adult Storytime next Thursday, March 26, with “Confessions of a Displaced Library Worker” on our Readers’ Lounge Facebook page!

We’ve also just recently set up a friends account on GoodReads to share book suggestions and reviews, as well as our to-be-read lists. We’d love to see what you’re reviewing too, so consider adding us, reader friends.

Last, but not least, I’ll leave you with a thought from Stephen King: “Books are a uniquely portable magic.” And with the virtual library, this rings so, so, true.
