Mid-Continent Public Library has partnered with the Jackson County Health Department to offer free COVID-19 vaccination events at three of its branches. The clinics do not require advance registration, and all will be available from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the days of the events:
- North Independence Branch (Community Program Rooms): June 7, 9, 28, and 30
- Raytown Branch (Basement): June 15 and 18, July 6 and 8
- Grandview Branch (Community Program Room): June 23 and 25, July 14 and 16
During the vaccination events, attendees will have the opportunity to receive their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, their second dose of the Moderna vaccine, or the one and only dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. If attendees are receiving their second vaccine dose, they are encouraged to bring their vaccination cards.
The vaccination clinic at the North Independence Branch will be run by the National Guard while the events at the Raytown and Grandview Branches will be run by Jackson County Health Department staff and volunteers. Those who receive their vaccination at the North Independence Branch can get a free cup of coffee from Post Coffee Co., located within the library. The Library will also be giving away assorted books and mood cups at all three events to those who receive the vaccine, while supplies last.
More information about the COVID-19 vaccine can be found on the Jackson County Health Department’s website at jacohd.org, or by calling the health department 816.404.6415.
