May 9, 2025

Since summer will be here soon, do you have your travel plans ready? Whether you're exploring the world, discovering something new in your neighborhood, or embarking on a personal journey, let the Library be your guide on your next great adventure.

Don’t have a Library card? Sign up online for free, or stop by your nearest branch to get registered. Then your friendly travel agent—err, Library staff member—can help you discover all the amazing resources available to you.

Travel Adventures

  • Need a passport? Select Library branches offer Passport Services. Book an appointment and bring your required documents, and you’ll be one step closer to your next travel destination.
  • Planning a cross-country road trip? Check out Chilton Library and other automotive repair and maintenance resources to ensure your vehicle is ready for the trek—from California to Maine!
  • Use Mobile Device Remote Printing to print tickets, boarding passes, or hotel reservations straight from your phone. Then, swing by your local branch to pick them up before heading to the airport.
  • Download the free Libby app to access thousands of books and audiobooks—perfect for vacation reading or listening.
  • Want to learn more about a country’s culture, food, language, or customs? Explore Mango Languages (with over 70 languages), CultureGrams (covering 200 countries and every U.S. state), and Universal Class (offering courses in travel writing, cultural awareness, and more).

 Local Exploration

  • Go fish! Some branches offer fishing poles for check out—just bring your sense of adventure!
  • Visit local attractions with a Museum Pass, such as the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum or the Children’s Wonderscope Museum—available at your Library.
  • Armchair travel with your favorite book group and dive into stories from authors and settings around the globe.
  • Join one of our RPG gaming programs for kids, teens, or adults. Build worlds, go on quests, and maybe even fight a dragon or two—who else can say they did that at the Library this summer?
