April 23, 2021
Over the past year, MCPL staff have worked hard to continue bringing essential resources and services to customers during a very difficult time. From helping customers remotely access digital services, to delivering curbside pickups with a (masked!) smile, to hosting engaging programs on Facebook and Zoom, Library staff have gotten creative and put in the hours to support their fellow community members.
Has a particular MCPL employee gone above and beyond to assist you over the past year? We invite you to share your story with us by nominating them for the 2021 Maggie Jackson Community Spirit Award. This award is dedicated to the memory of Maggie Jackson, a longtime MCPL staff member at the Liberty Branch, who demonstrated a passion for her community through her work and whose spirit continues to inspire others.
The Maggie Jackson Community Spirit Award is one of three awards given annually at the MCPL Legacy Luncheon. At last year’s event, we honored Shannon Thompson, MCPL Story Center Program Manager. Shannon was recognized for her work fostering a sense of community among local writers and storytellers.
We invite Library customers and community members to nominate an exceptional MCPL employee who is dedicated to improving the quality of their community for the 2021 award now. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, April 30.
We look forward to hearing about the many ways our staff provide exceptional customer service and help our libraries shine. Thank you for joining us in celebrating our phenomenal Library staff!
