Raytown Branch Temporarily Closed Due To COVID-19 Exposure

The Raytown Branch and book drop will be closed until further notice due to potential COVID-19 exposure. At this time, items on hold that have arrived at the branch are not being transferred to other branches, and their availability for pick-up will be extended after reopening.

The branch was immediately closed when a staff member was confirmed positive for the virus. The last day the staff member worked in the branch was June 30.

All Library staff who were potentially exposed will be screened and closely monitored before returning to work. Professional deep cleaning services will take place during the closure.

If able to determine, MCPL will notify any customers who were potentially exposed.

The Library is closely working with the Jackson County Health Department to determine all necessary and additional next steps. An announcement will be made to the public and an email will be sent to Raytown Branch customers when a reopening date is determined.
