Six Mid-Continent Public Library branches will be the first facilities to see improvements made possible by the passage of Proposition L. In late spring, crews will begin work on the Antioch, Blue Springs South, Excelsior Springs, Oak Grove, Platte City, and Weston branches, which will result in temporary closures of the buildings during construction. The improvements at these locations are the first in a capital program that will touch all 31 MCPL branches and add two new branches by 2022. And while the specifics vary by branch, the renovations will help ensure that local communities have facilities that serve the needs of modern library users. Customers of these branches will receive emails with more specific information as it becomes available.
The schedule of upcoming closures will be posted as it becomes available.
