The Midwest Genealogy Center would like to invite you to our first ever Virtual “Mock-In!” In years past, we have offered an in-library, after-hours Lock-In, but with current safety measures put into place due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we are going virtual and will be offering this program via Zoom.
This free, three-hour event will be held from 5:00-8:30 pm on Friday, November 13. The evening will begin with David Jackson, local historian and author, presenting “Preserving Documents and Heirlooms” from 5:00-6:00 pm, followed by an MGC staff-led tour of online resources new and old from 6:15-7:15 pm in which you’ll explore a variety of family research opportunities accessible from your home tablet or computer. The evening will close with a Brick Wall Work Session from 7:30-8:30 pm. Unlike our monthly Brick Wall Discussion Group Zoom events, this work session will be a teacher-led class offering with resource ideas to help break down your walls.
Get comfortable in your favorite pajamas, settle in with a hot drink, and join us to discover what you can do at home to further your genealogy research! Throughout the evening, we will draw names from our attendees and lucky winners will be mailed a prize! Registration is required.
To register, or if you have any questions about this event, please visit our MGC Mock-In web page, or contact MGC by phone at 816-252-7228. We look forward to seeing you there!
