As a way to better serve customers who live and work in eastern Independence, Mid-Continent Public Library, in partnership with the Fort Osage School District and Community Services League, has opened a new service location with a selection of Library resources just east of U.S. 24 and U.S. 291 Highways in Independence:
Farview Neighborhood Library
18109 E. 12th St. N., Independence, MO
Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Opened in what had formerly been the school district’s early childhood center, Farview Neighborhood Library customers will be able pick up their MCPL holds, use public computers, access mobile printing, access free Wi-Fi, browse a small collection of books and other items, attend storytimes, and use collaboration rooms. The Library will be staffed by MCPL’s North Independence Branch, which is also located off 24 Highway.
In addition, the building will host a separately operated Community Services League food pantry that will have a different schedule than the Library. The pantry will be staffed by the Village Heights Community of Christ.
